Summer Holidays 2022

As we continue swinging our swords into the summer months at Iaido Gibraltar, we welcome the opportunity to practice our martial art in the open air. The fair, warm and sunny weather greets us back to outside venues. Fridays will still see our regular koryu sessions at the Taekwondo Association Dojo. But we are sure to be out and about making the most of the sunlight and the cool evening breeze for outdoor budo.

This time of year, it is usual to generate interest in prospective new members. People drop by the Dojo and ask about classes. Some make arrangements to try out a lesson or two. Other inquisitive fellows send curious emails requesting information about our activities and teaching.

New members are always welcome. Questions are welcome too. Those interested in trying out Japanese sword fighting will have lots to ask, especially as Iaido comes with an investment in clothing and equipment. Thankfully, here at Iaido Gibraltar, we stagger costs and provide prospective members with the opportunity to borrow equipment for some time. We also offer answers to questions and give several free non-commital classes.

So, if you are interested and want more information about our koryu martial art based here on the Rock of Gibraltar, send us an email, or drop by. If you see us practising in a park, say hello, and stop for a chat. We will be more than happy to talk to you about what we love doing: Seito Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai Heiho, Masaoka Den; or, as we often tend to say: swinging a sword.
